In some areas of activity, Post Pandemic work patterns seem to make increasing use of forms of remote work, in particular what has been called “Hybrid Work”. This is often comprised of a mix of work in the office (2/3 days a week) and work elsewhere (for example working from home). Emergent research is examining the wide-ranging impacts of hybrid work across production, consumption, and residential dimensions. But there is limited research around the implications of these transformations for the design and planning of cities. This research project aims to further our conceptual and empirical understanding of these implications, and how urban design and planners can respond.
